All across Missouri 911 Call Centers are dealing with budgets that are drastically decreasing. This financial crisis started way before the economic downturn of 2008. It started when Missouri residents began disconnecting their home phones and using their cell phones as their primary means of communication. Currently Missouri has no legislation mandating a 911 service fee for cell phone users. Which means that those with home phone service pay 100% of the 911 cost in Missouri. With more and more Missourians disconnecting their home phone service the problem will only get worse.

Senate Bill 966 addresses the issue of 911 funding in the State of Missouri and a measure of accountability and service. Please contact your Missouri Senator and tell them you support Senate Bill 966.
